JAMMU, June 5: An impressive Dogri Kahani and Kavi Goshthi was held by Viraj Kala Kendra in the auditorium of J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides office, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Renowned literary figures Dr Nirmal Vinod, Dr Nasib Singh Manhas, Anila Singh Charak and Dr Kasturi Lal were the distinguished guests on the occasion.
Thought provoking short stories by Dr Nasib Singh Manhas, Rajneesh Kumar Gupta and Shambu Ram enthralled the audience. The story of Dr Manhas was full of emotions and delivered a social message. Rajneesh captured the attention of the audience with his story ‘Hirkhey Da Mokh’ based on the agony of Bhimber Village which became part of PoJK. Shambu Ram’s story was based on internal turbulence and it was also impressive.
In the Kavi Goshthi, 20 Dogri poets recited their poems on social themes, love, poverty, violence, partition, nowadays complexity of life and freedom of ideas.
On the occasion, a two minute silence was also observed to pay tribute to Usha Kiran and Madan Lal Tofaan, renowned literary figures of UT of J&K who untimely expired this week.
