RAJOURI, Nov 9: The vital road link connecting Manyal to Dara via Alal has remained closed for vehicular movement for the last four months due to severe damage caused by recent floods, leaving local residents cut off and facing immense hardships.
A prominent local of the area Hafiz Shaukat Ahmed Choudhary has made a fervent appeal to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir to personally intervene and direct the concerned authorities to ensure the early restoration of the road.
He emphasized that the prolonged closure has affected not only daily commuters but also school-going children, patients, and farmers who depend on this road for essential connectivity.
Meanwhile, the local residents have appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma to arrange necessary funds for the construction of a protection wall at Alal, which is crucial for the permanent restoration and safety of the road.
The said road falls under the jurisdiction of the PMGSY Division Budhal, and the locals have urged the department to take immediate measures to repair the damaged stretch and resume traffic at the earliest.
The people of the area have expressed hope that the administration will act promptly to alleviate their sufferings and restore this important road link before winters.
