UDHAMPUR, June 18:  Demanding construction of  Gari to Jib Thathi road, people of the area held a strong protest demonstration in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur.
Led by social activist Manohar Lal, the protesting villagers of Jib Thathi raised slogans in support of their demand. They also criticized the Government for not paying any heed to the worst condition of the road, which is completely damaged.
Speaking on the occasion, Manohar Lal alleged that the administration was not taking  their demand seriously and thus forcing the villagers to resort to protest. He lamented that despite repeated assurances of the elected representatives for construction of the road, nothing has been done in this regard.
The protesting villagers threatened to launch a vigorous agitation if the road is not constructed immediately.
Later, a memorandum was also submitted to the Deputy Commissioner by the villagers.
