RAJOURI, Apr 18: The villagers from Azmatabad area of Thannamandi Sub Division held protest today as about 47 sheep have died due to some myserious disease in the area.
Sources said that the villagers led by Naib Sarpanch Azmatabad, Talib Hussain came to the office complex Sheep Husbandry department at Thannamandi and held protest today. They alleged that during last two weeks about 47 sheep of several villagers namely, Mushtaq, Abdul Majid, Mohd Rafiq, Haji Qaramat and Muneer Hussain died due to mysterious disease. Today, three sheep of Mohd Irshad also died due to unknown disease.
They alleged that Sarpanch/ Naib Sarpanch informed the concerned officials of Sheep Husbandry department at Thannamandi to provide vaccine to control this epidemic but nobody except a Nursing Orderly of the Department visited the area. No Veterinary doctor paid any visit to the area and even the concerned Tehsildar and SDM also remained unmoved over the issue.
They raised slogans against the Thannamandi Sub Divisional and District Administration Rajouri and demanded action against concerned Sheep Husbandry staff of the area.
