Villagers demand Kirchi to Seojdhar road, upgradation of school

UDHAMPUR, Feb 11: Villagers of Pachound and adjoining area in tehsil Latti have demanded road from Kirchi to Seojdhar and upgradation of High School Kirchi.
During an interaction programme with National Conference District President, Sunil Verma and others, locals said that Detailed Project Report (DPR) of 6-km long Kirchi to Seojdhar road was prepared in 2015, but no work has commenced till date.
They also demanded the upgradation of High School Kirchi to Higher Secondary School, immediate appointment of staff at PHC Kirchi, a regular Udhampur to Dudu bus service, establishment of an ITI College for Tehsil Latti, and the allocation of additional ration depots to ensure food security for the remote population.
Sunil Verma assured the people that he would take up their demands with the concerned ministries and work towards their immediate redressal. He emphasized that the National Conference, under the leadership of Omar Abdullah, is committed to the holistic development of the region and will continue to fight for the rights and welfare of the marginalized communities. He also criticized the previous Government for neglecting the development of far-flung areas and failing to address the pressing needs of the people.
The tour programme of NC leaders at village Pachound was organized by Naib Sarpanch Manzoor Ahmed along with local leaders Zaida Kabir, Yasmin Koshar, and Gulzar Ahmed Wani, Youth NC Block President Latti, under the supervision of Khalid Hussain Malik, Block President Latti.
Besides Adv KD Sharma and prominent locals, several NC leaders, including Gurmeet Singh Josh (District Vice President), Ch Abdul Rashid (District Secretary), Om Parkash (Block President Udhampur), Harvinder Singh, Ramesh Verma, and Sadiq Mohd, also addressed the gathering.
