JAMMU, Apr 10: Senior leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Vikramaditya Singh said that Coalition Government headed by CM Mehbooba Mufti is committed to solve problems of all sections of the society. He said that agenda of the present Govt is to reach to the marginalized and downtrodden sections of the society as to ensure balanced and equitable development.
During meetings with the people at Kheralad, Parakh, Sangar, Ransoo and Pouni areas today, Singh along with senior leaders of the party inquired about the problems being faced by the inhabitants of these belts and assured to take up the same with the concerned officers. He further assured the residents that their problems would be solved on priority.
The MLC observed that people of this belt of Reasi were facing the most common complaints like drinking water and electricity besides bad condition of roads. Singh said that he was shocked to see that since 1947, residents of the remote hilly areas were still seeking basic amenities that successive Governments had failed to provide.
He also held a meeting at the DC’s office Reasi where some members of the Gujjar- Bakerwal community expressed anguish over tampering of their Girdawari by Revenue officials. Vikramaditya assured them that the Government will not allow any person having a legitimate title to be harassed by officials. The other problems related to lack of adequate teaching staff in schools and absence of a senior doctors at the hospitals were also projected by the people of the area.
Vikramaditya made on the spot calls to both concerned Cabinet Ministers who assured that both the matters will be looked into immediately.
Accompanying the MLC on his tour were, Satpal Singh Charak, Kabla Singh, Ijaz Khan, Bansi Lal Thakur, Devender Sharma, Pritam Singh, Ajit Sharma and Capt Gambhir Singh.
