JAMMU, July 8: Chairman, Mata Sarthal Devi Trust and Trustee, J&K Dharmarth Trust, Vikramaditya Singh has appealed the Government to ensure security arrangements and adequate supply of drinking water, medical facilities, toilet facility and sufficient number of vehicles for the devotees of Sarthal Devi Yatra.
As the Yatra to Mata Sarthal Devi is scheduled to be commenced tomorrow (July 9), Vikramaditya Singh said that this Yatra is a shining example of communal harmony and brotherhood, which have been the hallmarks of the glorious pluralistic ethos of Jammu and Kashmir in the centuries past.
The shrine of Sarthal Devi Mata is located in the Pir Panchal ranges from Gori Shanker Mandir Sarkoot in Kishtwar. The devotees believed that Sarthal Devi is the Hindu’s Kuldevi residing in Kishtwar and held her in high reverence only next to Mata Vaishno Devi.
Pertinently, Sarthal Devi Ji is revered as “Kul Devi’ of the area and the historic Yatra is being organized every year for last over a century.
