Vikar inaugurates 100 KW Solar Power Plant at Women Polytechnic

SRINAGAR, July 9: Maintaining the need for promoting traditional arts, crafts and technology, the Minister of State for Technical Education, Power, Vikar Rasool today said that same should be augmented with new and modern ones in order to create a homogenous one which would benefit the students pursuing their courses in different trades at polytechnics and Industrial Training Institutes (ITI).
The Minister was speaking after inaugurating 100 KW Solar Power Plant and Food Technology (FT) Block at Government Polytechnic for Women at Bemina here today.
He was accompanied by the Director Technical Education J.P. Singh and other senior officers of the Department.
The Power Plant has been set up under the ageis of Union Ministry of Renewable Energy and is going to benefit the technical institutes by providing un-interrupted power supply. The Food Technology Block has been constructed with an estimated cost of Rs. 98.60 lakh and is provided with all the modern gadgets and facilities.
Mr. Vikar said that Government has already initiated the process of augmenting the technical education sector by adding the requisite infrastructure and the facilities and it would go a long way in providing the much needed training to the students, so that they can set up their own individual entrepreneurial units thereby providing employment opportunities to them.
