JAMMU, Jan 8: Minister of State for Power Vikar Rasool Wani has directed the officers of Power Development Department to ensure timely action to repair any damaged infrastructure and restore power supply to avoid inconvenience to the people.
The Minister asked the concerned field functionaries of PDD to be vigilant and ensure the system breakdowns are immediately checked to provide hassle free power supply in Khari, Pogal, Paristan, Neel and Ukerhal areas so that public may not suffer in this cold season.
Vikar said that various initiatives have been taken to augment power systems in the area and the under construction receiving station at Khari and Ukerhal will also help to improve the power situation to a greater extent, adding that people should ensure judicious use of power. The Minister also sanctioned Rs 20 lakh for immediately changing the existing panels in receiving station Ramsu to minimize the power cuts in the area.
Meanwhile, Minister directed special team comprising of SE PDD Batote and his Executive Engineers to review the power setup in the area and suggest immediate measures to improve the power scenario.
