KATHUA, June 5: A group of 16 pilgrims from Southern States of Karnataka and Kerala who have launched the Vijay Yatra to holy cave of Swami Amarnath Ji on foot from Rameshwaram in Kanyakumari on January 15 this year reached here today after covering a journey of thousands of kilometers.
These pilgrims visited from the States of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, MP, Chatisgarh, Rajasthan, UP, Delhi, Haryana and Punjab before reaching here and interacted with hundreds of people en –route. The yatris while talking to reporters here said that the Government has ignored the plight of drought hit people in various States and termed the conditions of the masses worst there.
They said that they met cross section of people on their way and got good cooperation from members of each and every community including Muslims and Christians.
They said that all religions teach love and brotherhood and their objective is to spread this message among the countrymen so that the peace prevails every where.
The group of pilgrims is traveling 30 to 35 kilometres daily said that they will reach the holy cave by next month.
