JAMMU, Dec 3: Vigilance Organization Jammu today registered a case FIR against Chief Education Officer, Jammu, Tarsem Lal and others for abusing their official positions and conniving with the beneficiaries, selected to Class-IV posts in Education Department.
A case FIR number 30/2014 under Section 5(1) (d) read with 5(2) J&K PC Act 2006 and Sections 120-B, 466, 468 & 471 RPC, has been registered against the accused.
The FIR has been lodged in pursuance to Joint Surprise Check (JSC), conducted by Vigilance Organization, to verify the allegations regarding bungling made in the selection process to the post of Class-IV employees.
The JSC has found that out of 90 selected candidates, 15 candidates had not filled up their application forms and were appointed through backdoor. It has been further found that academic points of 13 selected candidates have been raised/increased and 06 candidates were either given less marks by interview committee or were shown absent but their points were fraudulently raised leading to their selection. The CEO Jammu has also allegedly violated Government Orders with regard to the procedure required to be adopted in the selection for recruitment of Class-IV employees.
In this way 33 undeserving candidates were illegally benefitted in the selection process which rendered the selection of Class-IV employees in Education Department illegal, arbitrary and unfair.
