JAMMU, Mar 9: The Vigilance Organization has booked SSP for committing fraud to get ownership rights, under Roshni Act, on a piece of land at Sidhra from Gujjars by giving assurance to employ their children as Constables or SPOs in Police Department.
A case under Section 5(1) (d) read with Section 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act Svt, 2006 and 120-B RPC, has been registered in this regard at Police Station VOJ.
During the course of verification, detailed record of land/Roshni file of SSP (beneficiary) was collected from the office of the Deputy Commissi-oner, Jammu, Tehsildar Jammu Khas/Recovery.
After scrutiny of the record, it was revealed that vesting of ownership rights conferred upon the beneficiary in respect of land measuring 01 kanal 9 ½ marla from khasra No.119 min and khasra No. 120 (State land) vide order No. DCJ/HQA/Roshni/08/632-33 dated 26.03.2008 of Deputy Commissioner, Jammu and in consequence mutation No.588/Jeem dated 10.04.2008, has been recorded in contravention to law/rules by abusing their official position in connivance with District Approval Committee, Jammu.
These acts of omissions and commissions on part of the public servants (conferred constituted committee) beneficiary and others constitute offences U/S 5(1) (d) r/w Section 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt. 2006 and 120-B RPC. Accordingly a case is registered at P/S VOJ and further investigation is going on.
