Video of youth being beaten up goes viral, one held

RAJOURI, Aug 10: In a shocking incident that has sparked widespread outrage, a disturbing video showing the brutal thrashing of a young boy in Alal Panchayat of Thannamandi Sub-Division has gone viral on social media.
The accused, Nisar Hussain, a retired Forest Department employee, had allegedly set up a self-styled “court” in the area, where he has been subjecting innocent and poor individuals to public beatings without any legal authority. Locals claim that his actions have created an atmosphere of fear and intimidation, deterring people from speaking out against him.
The most recent incident, which took place, involved the merciless assault on young boy in broad daylight. The viral video of the thrashing has drawn strong condemnation from residents, civil society members, and social media users.
Taking swift action on the matter, FIR No. 103/2025 under sections 356(2), 351(2), 127(2), and 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered at Police Station Thannamandi. The accused, Nisar Hussain, son of Mohd. Hussain, resident of Alal, has been arrested by police.
Locals have appreciated the step taken by Thannamandi Police including SDPO Thanna Mandi Parupkar Singh and DySP Probationer Ahtesham Ahmed Khan.
