RAJOURI, Aug 12: Giving a further boost to the ongoing series of programmes as part of “Azaadi 70” celebrations in twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch, BJP senior leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta today led a Tringa March at Mehari Manyalan in Rajouri.
A larger number of local people including the representatives from the local Panchyats participated in this march by proudly carrying national flags in their hands. This programme has given a great momentum to the ongoing Independence Day celebrations in this border belt of Rajouri.
Addressing the gathering Vibodh gave a detailed account of various programmes being organized across the country as part of “Azaadi 70″. He said that he always feels proud to carry the Tricolor in his hands which reminds him of great power which this nation gives to every citizen of this country. He said “ today we are enjoying freedom and organizing such programmes only because of our freedom fighters, who laid down their lives to ensure that we get freedom”.
Appreciating the people living on the borders of India, Vibodh said that the people living in these areas have always made great sacrifices. He further added that after the armed forces it is the people living on the borders who play a very vital role in safeguarding the borders. The people living on the frontiers of India belong to various religions but their priority always remains the sovereignty and integrity of our country, he added.
Vibodh said that in spite of huge problems being faced by these people they always give priority to nation and in this way many people living on borders have made supreme sacrifices. Today when whole nation is gearing up for the celebration of Independence Day, “we must also give some thought to the role played by these people in our national security”, he added.
Sanjay Sharma, Mandal Pradhan of BJP also spoke on the occasion. He said that all the people living in the area are proud Indians and are ready to make any sacrifice for the sake of country. He also highlighted various issues of the local people and hoped that the State and Central Governments will give due consideration to these genuine demands.
