VHP for fair probe into Kishtwar riots

JAMMU, Apr 11: Dr  Ramakant Dubey, Sangrakshak of VHP, J&K State has strongly advocated for  ensuring a  fair probe to investigate the cases relating to Kishtwar riots which were sparked on Eid Day.
Dr. Dubey had demanded strict possible action against the guilty and for enhanced compensation to the victims as per the direction of the Supreme Court of India’s verdict, in which the Apex Court’s Bench comprising of Justice P Sathasivam and Justice Ranjan Gogoi had said that in terms of Article 35 (A) of the Constitution, there was no error in awarding higher compensation to the victims of these riots.
Dr Dubey has condemned the role of Coalition Government in the State, as some shopkeepers in the town had been paid a paltry amount, ranging between Rs 15,000 and Rs 25,000 only which is a grave injustice.
Dr. Dubey demanded compensation as per the actual losses of the Kishtwar riot victims as many of them had suffered heavy losses and only few businessmen were given a compensation ranging between Rs 2 lakh to Rs 4 lakh which was insignificant as per their actual losses as their properties which were destroyed in these riots were much higher amounting to even more than Rs 50 lakhs.
He has also challenged reinduction of the Minister who was earlier removed on the charges of his alleged involvement in Kishtwar riots.
He demanded that the people responsible for the riots be dealt under law and cases initiated against them.
