JAMMU, Apr 22: Expressing strong anger and grief over the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on tourists from different parts of the country, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Chamber of Commerce and other social organisations supported by various market organisations of Jammu have given a dawn to dusk Jammu bandh call tomorrow.
The decision in this regard was taken in an emergency meeting convened by VHP here, today under the leadership of its president Rajesh Gupta. Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) in an emergency meeting held under the chairmanship of its president, Arun Gupta also gave a bandh call for tomorrow and appealed to the traders and business community members to observe a dawn to dusk bandh tomorrow in protest against the killing of tourists by terrorists in Pahalgam.

The VHP meeting among others was attended by president of Sanatan Dharam Sabha, (SDS) Parshotam Dadichi, president Hindu Jagran Manch, Ram Paul, president, Bajrang Dal (BD) Kartik Sudan and leaders of various market associations.
The meeting gave a bandh call for tomorrow in protest against the dastardly act and killing of multiple tourists at Pahalgam in South Kashmir district of Anantnag. While expressing his anger over the killing of innocent tourists belonging to a particular community, Rajesh Gupta president, VHP said that this will not be tolerated at any cost. He said it is high time for the Government to act tough not only against terrorists but their over ground supporters and sympathisers. “The over ground supporters of terrorists and their sympathisers be identified and chased to finish’’, he added.
He said the people of Jammu are solidly with the bereaved families at this hour of shock and grief.
He said that the meeting which besides, the social organisations was also attended by representatives of Raghunath Bazar Association,. Below Gumat Association, Jewel Chowk Association, Jammu Sewa Parishad, Talab Tiloo Market Association, Tourism Federation and various other market associations extended their full support to tomorrow’s bandh to strongly condemn this dastardly act of terrorists.
Meanwhile, Pradesh Congress Committee has given a call for Jammu bandh tomorrow in protest against the gruesome and cowardly terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam.
In a statement on behalf of party, JKPCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma has appealed to the people to observe a complete and peaceful Jammu bandh tomorrow to send a strong and united message against terrorism.
Meanwhile, Hindu Raksha Samiti (HRS), president, Ram Paul Sharma questioned that why the tourists were allowed to visit a secluded place in Pahalgam where there were no security arrangements. He said the authorities needed to be taken to task for the security lapses.
He demanded a high level probe to ascertain the facts and the conspiracy of killing innocent tourists be unmasked.
Various organisations of Udhampur have also given a complete bandh call in the town tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS) Kishtwar has also given a bandh call in the town tomorrow in protest against the killing of tourists from different parts of country by terrorists at Pahalgam.
Local Units of VHP and Sanatan Dharam Sabha have called for complete bandh in Reasi and Katra in protest against terror attack tomorrow.
In response to their call, serveral provate schools in the town have announced holiday on Wedneday.
Meanwhile, Traders Federation Ware House, Nehru Market have also supported Jammu bandh call. It in a meeting held under the chairmanship of its president, Deepak Gupta decided to support tomorrow’s bandh. Panun Kashmir (PK) led by Dr Ajay Chrungoo and Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) led by K K Khosa and All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee led by Desh Rattan and various other bodies also extended their full support to bandh call.
Meanwhile, Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Bajrang Dal activists held a joint protest here, today against the killings and torched the effigies of Pakistan and terrorism.
