JAMMU, May 25: Executive Committee of Indigenous Medicines Organisation (IMO) met here today under the presidentship of Dr K K Gandotra to discuss the various problems of the ISM doctors.
The meeting expressed grave concern that a malicious campaign is being launched by some vested elements against the ISM doctors in Kashmir valley to denigrate the doctors and staff of ISM by leveling false and baseless allegations against them.
The meeting said that by arrest of one incharge superintendent of the Hospital in Kupwara area in a rape case does not mean that entire Department of Ayush is involved and people as well as so called organizations who are making such allegations should refrain in launching a malicious campaign against ISM.
The meeting said it is a conspiracy to malign the image of ISM Department and added that blaming entire ISM community for a sin committed by one person from the Department has neither any justification nor logic. It said that earlier also some Government officers were arrested for their involvement in sex racket and does it mean that entire Department was involved.
Dr Mahesh Sharma general secretary IMO said that instead of appreciating DG ISM to run the ISM Hospital and institutions on the meager resources the vested interests are raising fingers on him. He said attaching of doctors is not the fault of DG but Government which has failed to fill up the posts of the doctors and other staff in the Ayurvedic and Unani hospitals.
