SAMBA, Jan 30: Samba police has seized a vehicle loaded with ‘Khair’ wooden logs which were illegally cut and stolen from the State and private land in Surara area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
A spokesman of the police said acting on information received from reliable sources regarding transportation of illegally cut and stolen Khair wood by some unknown persons, a team of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal has intercepted a Mahindra load carrier bearing Registration Number JK08F-0119 while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka NHW Tapyal. During checking, the vehicle was found loaded with Khair wooden logs which were illegally cut and stolen from the State and private land in Surara area. The vehicle along with the wooden logs was seized on the spot by the police, he added.
He said a case FIR No. 13/2026 U/S 303(2) has been registered at Police Station (PS) Ghagwal and investigation started.
