JAMMU, Aug 12: A vehicle reportedly used by Bollywood actor Askhay Kumar to attend an event in Jammu has been seized by the Traffic Police Jammu for allegedly violating the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act (MVA).

The actor was in the city to inaugurate a showroom of the popular jewellery brand, Kalyan Jewellers, at Dogra Chowk, Jammu.

After participating in the event, the actor was dropped at the airport by a white Range Rover (CH01AL-7766) owned by an event management company.
The vehicle plying with black tinted glass beyond the permissible limits and in violation of the visibility norms under the Motor Vehicle Act was seized on its way back to the event at Dogra Chowk by a team of Traffic Police Jammu.
SSP Traffic Jammu, Farooq Qaiser, said he doesn’t know whether the vehicle was used by Akshay Kumar or any management company associated with the event participated by the Bollywood star but confirmed the seizure of a Range Rover vehicle for violating the MV Act.
“I don’t know whether Akshay Kumar used this vehicle or it is owned by any company associated with organising any event participated by the Bollywood star. But a Range Rover has been definitely seized at Dogra Chowk for plying with black tinted glass beyond permissible limits and in violation of the visibility norms,” he said.
