JAMMU, Apr 5: A team of the Forest Department, under the close supervision of the Range Officer (RO) Jammu and overall supervision of Divisional Forest Officer, Jammu, seized a Mahindra Tata Mobile (Reg No. JK14C – 2141) illegally transporting Khair stuff in village Jandyal of Teh. Bhalwal last night.
The operation was executed early morning of 2.30 am by Block Officer (BO) Manawar with the active assistance of police personnel and Beat Guard, Showa. Upon inspection, the vehicle was found loaded with 40 Khair billets and 2 khair stumps , which were being transported without valid documentation, in violation of the Indian Forest Act (IFA).
As per legal provisions, confiscation proceedings have been promptly initiated against the offenders. The seized vehicle and illicit forest produce have been taken into official custody for further legal action.
