Vehicle of notorious bovine smuggler attached

UDHAMPUR, July 24: Dhampur Police today attached movable property of a notorious bovine smuggler under new criminal laws.
According to Police, a vehicle bearing registration number JK06B-2419 worth Rs 11 lakhs, owned by habitual bovine smuggler namely Khadam Hussain son of Mohd Ismail of Nagras, Qazigund, Anantnag, has been seized.
The case pertains to FIR number 110/2025, registered under Section 223 BNS U/S 11 PCA Act of PS Rehambal. During investigation of the case, the movable property was identified as proceeds of crime and was thus attached under section 107 BNSS after obtaining orders from competent court.
Meanwhile, Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued four smugglers besides arresting the accused.
On a specific input, Police team of PP Roun Domail established a naka near CRPF Camp and intercepted an auto (JK19A-2168) coming from the Manwal side. During checking, four bovine animals were found tied cruelly and being transported illegally without valid permission from District Udhampur to Kashmir valley.
The driver, identified as Tousaf Iqbal Naik son of Mohd Iqbal Naik , resident of Kabbi, Tehsil Gandhri, District Ramban was arrested on the spot. Vehicle was seized and all four bovines were rescued safely. FIR No. 269/2025 U/S 223 BNS & 11 PCA Act has been registered at PS Udhampur.
