JAMMU, Oct 30: The Jammu Forest Range team intercepted and seized a Tempo Traveller involved in the unauthorized transportation of Khair billets in Jammu North area last night.
Acting on specific inputs, a Forest Department’s team led by Range Officer Kailash Choudhary, under the supervision of Divisional Forest Officer, Jammu, Anurag Arya, organized an operation during which a Tempo Traveller bearing registration number JK12-0949 was intercepted within the Jammu Range limits. Upon inspection, the vehicle was found loaded with Khair billets being transported in contravention of the provisions of the Indian Forest Act (IFA).
Following due legal procedure, the vehicle and the illicit forest produce were immediately taken into official custody. Confiscation proceedings have been initiated against the individuals responsible, and further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend others involved in the illegal trade.
