KISHTWAR, Sept 20: A Village Defence Guard (VDG) shot himself dead in Kontwara area, here this morning.
As per reports the incident took place in Akra Nagbatana area of Bhatkoot in Kishtwar where a Village Defence Guard shot himself with his rifle at his home resulting in his on spot death.
The VDG has been identified as Tek Chand, 45, son of Prem Nath, resident of Akra, Nagbatana. After getting information about the shooting incident, cops lead by DySP Headquarter, Dr. Ishan Gupta rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the hospital. After autopsy dead body was handed over to the family members of the deceased for last rites.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
