RAJOURI, Apr 10: A Village Defence Committee (VDC) member committed suicide by shooting himself at Bai Nambal village, under the jurisdiction of Kandi Police Station, late this evening.
The deceased was identified as Suresh Kumar Sharma, son of Sukhdev Sharma, resident of Bai Nambal. He was working as VDC member and committed suicide by shooting himself with the weapon issued to him as VDC members.
According to the Police, the incident took place around 9:00 pm on Monday night when Suresh Kumar Sharma shot a bullet with his own gun, due to which he died on the spot.
SSP Rajouri Amritpal Singh, while confirming the news, said that Police team has been dispatched to the spot for further investigation.
