JAMMU, Feb 24: The Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, Prof (Dr) K S Chandrasekar, today interacted with the delegates of the ongoing five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) during a specially organised campus session.
The programme is being conducted by the Office of the Dean Academic Affairs, Cluster University of Jammu, in collaboration with The Prem Rawat Foundation (USA), a globally recognised organisation dedicated to peace education and human values.
The interaction was held in the presence of Prof (Dr) Twinkle Suri, Dean Academic Affairs; Dr Ranvijay Singh, Controller of Examinations; Dr Satinder Kour, Dean Research Studies and Dr Kulvinder Kour, Principal, PSPS GCW Gandhinagar.
During his interaction the delegates, the Vice Chancellor highlighted the growing relevance of peace education in contemporary higher education, particularly in times marked by social, emotional and global uncertainties.
He emphasised that universities must move beyond conventional instruction to consciously nurture empathy, dialogue, psychological well-being and coexistence among learners.
Highlighting the academic significance of the initiative, the Vice Chancellor expressed the view that the university should explore the introduction of an Open Elective course on Peace Education, enabling students from all disciplines to engage with peace-oriented learning within a structured academic framework.
He appreciated the initiative taken by the Office of the Dean Academic Affairs in collaboration with The Prem Rawat Foundation (USA) and congratulated the organising team and participants for their commitment to professional and personal growth.
The interaction concluded on an inspiring note, reaffirming the university’s commitment to fostering peaceful, inclusive and emotionally responsive academic spaces.
