JAMMU, Jan 27: Various political parties celebrated 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
J&K unit of BJP celebrated the 76th Republic Day with national fervour across the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. Celebrating the Republic Day with patriotic zeal, BJP leaders hoisted the National Flag at almost every locality, Chowk and at all the important places. The party workers raised patriotic slogans, while distributing sweets to mark the occasion.
BJP JKUT president Sat Sharma, general secretary (organization) Ashok Koul, Leader of Opposition in LA, Sunil Sharma, former Dy CM Kavinder Gupta, MLA Vikram Randhawa, District president Naresh Singh and other senior leaders of party hoisted the National Flag at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
At BJP office, Kachi Chawni, Jammu, MP Ghulam Ali Khatana, MLA Arvind Gupta, District President Rajesh Gupta, and other BJP leaders hoisted the National Flag.
At City Chowk, Jammu, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, MLA & J&K BJP vice-president Yudhvir Sethi, former Minister Priya Sethi and other BJP leaders hoisted the National Flag.
Sat Sharma greeted the people on the occasion. He said that we are the proud participants of the world’s largest democracy. Enjoying our civil rights with dignity, owing to the Indian Constitution, it is our duty to recognize the efforts of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar in drafting this Constitution as its Chief Architect, he said.
Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta hoisted the National Flag at multiple locations across the Gandhi Nagar constituency to mark the 76th Republic Day. Amidst patriotic fervor, he extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the entire nation, emphasizing India’s rapid strides under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing gatherings Gupta highlighted how India has emerged as a global power-house, with its rich culture and heritage being recognized on the world stage. He credited PM Modi’s dynamic governance for transforming the country into a self-reliant and progressive nation, ensuring holistic development in every sector.
In a grand display of patriotism and commitment to the ideals of nationalism, senior BJP leader and MLA Bahu Constituency Vikram Randhawa hoisted the tri-colour at 27 different locations across Bahu Constituency to mark the occasion of 76th Republic Day. The celebrations, held at Bathindi, Narwal, Chowadhi, Railway Chowk, Raipur Satwari, Gandhinagar, Sanjay Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Channi Himmat, Bawe, Qasim Nagar, Gorkha Nagar, and several other places, witnessed an overwhelming response from the public.
Accompanied by Naresh Singh, District president BJP; Nitish Mahajan, Mandal presidents; Surjeet Singh, Rahul Kumar, Ritika, Kulveer Charak, and others from the respective areas, Randhawa emphasized the importance of national unity and the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters. Randhawa reiterated the BJP’s unwavering dedication to the development of Jammu and Kashmir under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a grand display of national pride and patriotism, Ranbir Singh Pathania, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Udhampur East, marked the Republic Day celebrations by unfurling the tricolor at multiple schools in his constituency, including Government Higher Secondary Schools (GHSS) Tikri, GHSS Battal Balian, GHS Kakrai, and Battal Balian Chowk.
Pathania addressed the students, teachers, and local community members, commemorating the ideals and principles that have shaped India’s progress over the last six decades. He emphasized the significant contributions of individuals who have played a key role in making India a multi-faceted, multicultural, and globally recognized leader.
BJP Kashmir Unit marked the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor across the Kashmir Valley.
The party held celebrations in all districts, where the Tri-color was hoisted in each area. The main event was organized at the BJP Party headquarters in Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar, where a large gathering of party workers and supporters gathered to celebrate the day.
Senior leaders of the BJP Kashmir Unit, hoisted the National Flag at the party office, reaffirming their commitment to the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
The celebrations reflected the party’s dedication to national unity, sovereignty, and progress. BJP leaders expressed their gratitude to the citizens of India for their continued faith in the democratic process, and pledged to uphold the ideals of justice, equality, and inclusivity for all.
The Republic Day was also celebrated with great pomp at the Keshav Bhawan campus, the Provincial headquarters of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh located at Ambphala. On this occasion, former Chairman and current Director of Jammu Kashmir Bank Limited RK Chhibber unfurled the National Flag tricolor in the presence of the provincial officials of the Sangh. Apart from the Central Security Force and JK Police personnel deployed at Keshav Bhawan, the volunteers present at the program saluted the National Flag and sang the national anthem.
After this, the Prant Sanghchalak of the Sangh, Dr Gautam Maingi, presented sweets to the security forces personnel and wished them a Happy Republic Day. RSS Prant Pracharak Rupesh Kumar and other officials were also present on the occasion.
Congress Party celebrated Republic Day in all its District and Block headquarters. The main function was held at PCC office Jammu where president JKPCC Tariq Hameed Karra hoisted National Flag in the presence of functionaries of PCC, DCC, Seva Dal and the people from all sections of society.
PCC working presidents Tara Chand and Raman Bhalla, DCC president Jammu(Urban) Manmohan Singh, senior leaders, Balwan Singh, Yogesh Sawhney, treasurer Rajnish Sharma, Seva Dal chief Vijay Sharma, Zahida Khan, Kanta Bhan, Gurdarshan Singh, Pravez Wani, Sanjeev Panda, Mickal Wazir, Rajvir Singh, Bukhari, Pawan Dev Singh, Chander Shekhar, Ram Magotra were among the prominent who attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion Karra delivered an emotional speech which thrilled the people with desire to serve the nation. He recalled the sacrifices of its great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru. Neta Ji Subash Chander Bose, Shaheed Azam Bhagat Singh, Sardar Patel, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Lal Bahadur Shastri, and many other freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to liberate India from foreign rulers and guide modern India towards its substantive progress.
Senior Congress leader and former Minister Yogesh Sawhney, marked the Republic Day celebrations by unfurling the Indian National Flag at various locations across Jammu East. He attended the Republic Day ceremony at the PCC office in Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu, and participated in a flag-hoisting ceremony, joining party senior leaders and citizens to honor the day. Following the ceremony at the PCC office, Sawhney visited several other areas in Jammu East to continue the celebrations.
He unfurled the tricolor at Ward 7, Vivekananda Chowk, in a ceremony organized by Ritu Chaudhary, ex-Corporator of the ward. He also unfurled the flag at Ward 16, in an event organized by Madhu, and at various other locations, bringing the spirit of the Republic Day to multiple neighborhoods in Jammu East. During his visit, Sawhney wished the people on the occasion of India’s Republic Day, emphasizing the importance of unity, peace, and progress in the country.
The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervor at Lower Roop Nagar, Muthi, in the Jammu North Assembly segment today. The National Flag was hoisted by Hari Singh Chib, vice president J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), in the presence of a large gathering of party activists and local residents.
Speaking on the occasion, Chib extended warm greetings to the people and emphasized the significance of Republic Day in upholding the values of democracy, unity, and secularism. He reiterated the Congress party’s commitment to safeguarding the constitutional rights of every citizen and working towards a progressive and inclusive Jammu & Kashmir.
Republic Day was also celebrated at Nagrota (Kandoli). Senior Congress leader Th Balwan Singh (Ex-MLA) hoisted National Flag and after flag hoisting function Balwan Singh and Shabir Khan (Ex-Minister) jointly inaugurated the Block Congress Committee office at Nagrota.
Block presidents, Romal Singh of Block Dansal, Zorawar Singh of Block Nagrota, Babu Khan of Block Mathwar and Jang Bahadur of Block Bhalwal,Vijay Sharma (Distt vice president) Balbir Kumar, Ashok Kumar, were the prominent among those participated in the function.
Senior Congress leader Suresh Dogra (adv), Gurdarshan Singh, Michael Wazir, Vijay Shastri general secretary and others unfurled National Flag at Indira Chowk and KC Chowk Jammu, to mark 76th Republic Day.
While speaking on the occasion Dogra congratulated the people and recalled the sacrifices of the national heroes and others for their sacrifices. Gurdarshan Singh also spoke on the occasion.
Apni Party headquarters at Church Lane in Srinagar resonated with patriotic spirit and festive jubilation as party leaders and senior workers gathered to celebrate the country’s 76th Republic Day.
The party president, Syed Mohd Altaf Bukhari, flanked by his senior party colleagues, unfurled the National Flag with great pride as the leaders and workers joined together in singing the national anthem. The participants exchanged warm greetings, and sweets were distributed among the participants.
While speaking on the occasion Bukhari said, “This is one of the most significant days, which marks the adoption of the country’s constitution-the most vital document that guarantees every citizen of the country all the fundamental rights, ranging from the freedom of speech to the right to live with dignity. Our Constitution is a beacon of democratic principles. Therefore, this day is festive and is being celebrated by everyone across the country.”
Seniors party leaders- Muntazir Mohiuddin, Farooq Andrabi, Dilshad Shaheen, Ishrat Bhat, Khalid Rathore, Muzaffar Reshi, Mohd Shafi Mir, Javaid Ahmad Mir, Zaffar Habib Dar, Imtiyaz Parray, and others were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion of 76th Republic Day, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) hoisted the tricolor at party office at Satwari in Jammu. On this occasion, J&K unit president Darshan Rana who was chief guest hoisted the tricolor in the presence of party leaders and workers and paid tribute to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. He complemented the people on this historic day and recalled the contributions of Dr Ambedkar.
Party vice president Charanjit Chargotra, convenor Gaurav, general secretary Shashi Bhushan Thapa, Raja Singh, Tarsem and Pawan Gupta were also present.
Shiv Sena Hindustan, J&K unit led by its president Rajesh Kesri also celebrated Republic Day and hoisted National Flag at Arnia town, near the Indo-Pak border. Several senior members of the unit and party workers joined the celebrations and distributed sweets to mark the occasion.
Capt (Retd) Om Parkash, Capt (Retd) Ghara Ram, Balbir Kumar, Balwant Fauji, Sanjeev Sharma and others were also present.
