JAMMU, July 1: On the 13th death anniversary of Late Amar Nath Vaishnavi Ji, tribute were paid by various Kashmiri Pandit (KP) organizations, here today.
Vomedh Rangmanch today also organized a memorable event to commemorate the Puniyatithi of Pt Amarnath Vaishnavi.
The ceremony was graced by an august gathering of dignitaries, led by chief guest, Arvind Karwani, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants).
In his welcome address, Rohit Bhat, president of Vomedh, set the tone for the evening, reflecting on Vaishnavi’s unwavering commitment to justice and community.
A Shradhanjali programme organized by the members of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) was also held here today.
The programme was held at Shree Shardha Mata Temple, Bantalab, under the leadership of Moti Lal Malla, president, ASKPC, who paid homage to the guiding force of the Kashmiri Pandit community.
Speaking on the occasion, Malla recalled Vaishnavi’s tireless efforts during the 1990 migration and his role in securing reservations for displaced youth.
Several speakers, including P K Raina, Swami Kumar, Ashok Dhar, Heera lal Bhat, Dr Sushil Wattal and Rajiv Pandita, described him as a visionary, compassionate soul and symbol of resilience, urging the community to stay united and inspired by his legacy.
In this regard, a tribute ceremony was also organized by Amar Balidan Trust Buta Nagar.
On the occasion, trust members highlighted the contribution of Amar Nath Vashnavi, who had earned the epithet of father of community and dedicated his whole life in serving the community even upto last end of his life.
A similar function was organized by the Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) under the leadership of its president, Kundan Kashmiri.
During the function, the members of KPC paid rich and heartfelt tributes to this iconic son of the soil, a spiritual stalwart and the undisputed father figure of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community.
The Dehli NCR unit of ASKPC (SDYS) in collaboration with Kashmiri Welfare Society (Regd.) Vaishali Ghaziabad also paid tributes to the father of Kashmiri Pandit community Late Pt Amar Nath Vashnavi.
In this regard a press statement was issued by Autar Krishan Koul, incharge, ASKPC (SDYS) and founder general secretary, Non-Camp ADKUF.
“His tireless efforts in providing temporary shelters and in uplifting of his uprooted KP community after the exodus from valley were also recalled. Today the whole community in general and the community living in NCR Delhi in particular remembered him with utmost gratitude and respect on his Nirvana Divas,” said Autar Krishen Koul.
Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha also paid rich tribute to Pt Amar Nath Vashnavi, under the leadership of its president, Ramesh Chander Mahajan, on his Punyatithi.
Pt Amar Nath Vashnavi was a great personality of a leader, having qualities of moral courage, honesty, integrity, selfless service to every human being and firm determination.
He was very helpful to youths and always struggled for unemployed youths till the last breath.
