Various delegations call on LG Ladakh

LEH, Dec 6: To discuss significant development, cultural and welfare concerns raised by the people of Ladakh, the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta met with various delegations, here today.
A delegation led by Tashi Namgyal from Flowering Dharma sought the LG’s intervention with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, for showcasing Buddha’s relics in Ladakh.
He also requested support for the establishment of a Cultural Centre at Chuchot and assistance in completing the formalities for allotment of land for this purpose.
Another delegation from Atitse Monastery led by venerable monks from the monastery requested the LG for the establishment of a meditation centre within the monastery to facilitate visitors and tourists in practicing meditation and yoga, which would also contribute to promoting Ladakh as a spiritual destination.
The Cluster Head of J&K Bank, Leh, also met with the LG and highlighted several issues related to the functioning of the bank.
The Lt Governor emphasised the UT Administration’s firm commitment to addressing the development needs and concerns of people of the Union Territory.
