SRINAGAR, Nov 9: Security forces today initiated coordinated operations across multiple districts in Kashmir aimed at dismantling networks linked to individuals operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK).

An official said the campaign is focused on tracing financial, logistical, and communication connections used to support anti-national activities and to disrupt coordination between handlers across the border and their local contacts.
Police said that during the course of operations 25 properties linked with PoJK/ Pakistan based Kashmiri natives were searched. “From these 25 locations, 19 persons were bound down under preventive provisions of law. 22 properties associated with OGWs were searched. 17 OGWs were bound down and 3 were sent to jail under preventive detention. 6 properties associated with persons booked under UAPA (presently on bail) were searched. 3 OGWs were bound down, and 2 were detained under preventive law. 73 SIM vendors were checked across the district to ensure proper subscriber verification in line with prescribed norms. 208 vehicles were thoroughly checked at various checkpoints established along the National Highway and other key routes. 14 CASOs were simultaneously conducted,” police added. Police said that these coordinated operations were aimed at pre-empting potential threats and ensuring that no individual or group is able to disturb peace and order in the district.
“District Police Baramulla reiterates its unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order and taking stern action against elements attempting to disrupt peace. These operations will continue in the coming days to further consolidate peace, stability, and security across the district.”
In Bandipora, police conducted multiple cordon-and-search operations targeting individuals suspected of facilitating terrorism through funding and recruitment on behalf of relatives across the border. Several Over Ground Workers and family members of PoJK-based operatives were booked under relevant laws, while electronic devices and other materials were seized for investigation.
Ganderbal saw similar drives, with searches carried out at over 60 locations based on intelligence regarding local individuals maintaining contact with relatives across the border. Authorities questioned multiple suspects and recovered documents and electronic devices.
Police in Shopian conducted extensive operations across the district to strengthen preventive measures against anti-national and law-violating elements. “Searches were carried out at multiple locations linked to OGWs, individuals associated with terror activities, and persons on bail under UAPA. Several suspects were bound down or detained under preventive laws.”
“In addition, checking of SIM vendors and vehicle frisking points were intensified to ensure compliance with legal norms and enhance public safety.”
“Police reaffirm its commitment to maintaining peace and order in the district. These operations will continue in the coming days to further strengthen the security environment and dismantle the terror ecosystem,” the officials said.
In Kulgam, police action led to the detention of individuals reportedly linked to Pakistan-based operatives, while in Anantnag, searches at the residences of JKNOP members Zaffer Bhat and Ghulam Nabi Khan were conducted under legal authorization to counter anti-national activities.
Pulwama police carried out searches at homes of previously booked individuals under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), while in Shopian, multiple properties were inspected to seize items used to aid cross-border operations.
Sopore police detained several suspects for questioning to map financial and communication links with handlers abroad. Some were booked under preventive detention provisions, while proceedings against others are ongoing.
Authorities emphasized that these operations are part of a sustained effort to curb cross-border facilitation of terrorism and maintain peace in the region. Residents have been urged to report suspicious activity, with assurances that confidentiality will be maintained.
