LEH, June 4: The Transport Department of Ladakh Union Territory administration has extended validity of documents related to Motor Vehicle Act 1988 and Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989.
Referring the letter of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India (GoI), OSD of Secretary Transport Department, Zakir Hussain has conveyed to the Regional Transport Officer Ladakh about the approval of the competent authority for the extension of the validity of documents related to MV Act 1988 and Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989 that is fitness, permit (all types), driving license, registration or any other concerned documents which had expired since February 1, 2020 or would expire by June 30, 2021 and exemption of late fee/penalties etc accrued on account of renewal of such documents upto June 30, 2021 as per advice of the MoRTH, GoI.
The order also stated that late fee accrued for delayed permit renewals of such cases which were due for renewal from October 31, 2019 till January 31, 2020 also has been exempted.
Also fee for temporary permits for the year 2021-22 has been exempted.
