Utilise funds sanctioned by Centre on priority: Jitendra tells J&K

JAMMU :  Union Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh today asked the Jammu and Kashmir Government, of which BJP is also a coalition partner, to utilise the funds sanctioned by the Centre on priority.
Time to time, the Centre has announced and sanctioned funds for the state of Jammu and Kashmir for various purposes and the money should be utilised on priority, Dr Singh told reporters at the sidelines of Meet The Press programme, organised by the Press Club of Jammu here, this morning.
The MoS PMO said, a big package, which is soon going to be announced for the state, shall also be distributed to cross border firing victims besides flood affected, adding that five marlas of land announced for the border victims, is a set procedure of transfer of land and yesterday, in a meeting held at Kathua, directions have been issued to expedite the process.
On the issue of austerity measure of purchasing luxurious cars by J&K Govt worth Rs over 11 crore for the MLAs, MLCs, the Union Minister said, I feel that the benefits of democracy and public welfare should be delivered and reach the last man.
He added that any budget or welfare schemes must go to the poorest of the poor.Amid a cloud of uncertainty over resumption of Indo-Pak cricketing ties, Dr Singh, concerned people are looking into the matter and BCCI authorities are taking the cognizance and will suitably take appropriate step.
However, on difference of opinion appearing on Kashmir Issue between PDP-BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, he said, there are some of the issues including of India-Pakistan talks, which are being discussed time to time in Modi led Government and a clear message went worldwide during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing ceremony but at the utmost, zero tolerance on terrorism must also be taken care of.
Meanwhile on non-inclusion of Jammu and Kashmir into Smart Cities project, Dr Singh said,all states approached the concerned ministry and the process is being followed. Smart City will also soon be announced for Jammu and Kashmir. (AGENCIES)
