JAMMU, Jan 10: A delegation of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA), led by provincial president Dr Shashi Pal Singh, met Minister of School Education Department, Sakina Itoo in her office chamber in Civil Secretariat Jammu and apprised her of various issues being faced by the teaching fraternity working in J&K Government run schools.
Provincial president Dr S P Singh putforth the demand of holding of DPC from Master to Lecturers in all the subjects, transfer of Teachers/ Masters/ Lecturers who have completed their stay in far off schools, grant of Senior Teacher Scale to undergraduate teachers, improvement in infrastructure of schools, restoration of old pension scheme in favour of all the teachers, transfer policy for Grade-II and Grade -III teachers especially female teachers, increase in honorarium of cooks and increase in budget of education sector
Minister Sakina Itoo gave a patient hearing to the issues and assured the members of delegation that their genuine demands would be taken up on priority and re-addressed on merit at the earliest.
Those who were part of delegation, include Mohammed Maqbool, State President JKCCTU; Vinayak Sharma, Ram Dass, Parbhat Singh, Manohar Lal, Anil Verma and Ganesh Dutt.
