LOS ANGELES, July 24: The Screen Actors Guild, which represents film, television and other performers in the United States, on Monday said Rita Moreno will receive its lifetime achievement award at its annual awards ceremony in January. Moreno, 81, has been performing for nearly 70 years as an actress, singer and dancer and won an Oscar in 1962 for her supporting role as the sassy Anita in “West Side Story,” a character she informed with her own upbringing in a Bronx “barrio.” (agencies)
