Unpaid for 7 months, ReT teachers protest

RAJOURI, July 11: Unpaid by the School Education Department for the last about seven months, Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers from Budhal/ Kotranka area held strong protest demonstration outside the office of  Zonal Education Officer at Khawas today.
A large number of ReT teachers including males and females, assembled at the office of   ZEO, Khawas in the morning around 10 am and started protest demonstration. They were demanding release of their wages, pending for the last over seven months. They raised slogans against the School Education Minister, Director School Education Jammu and Chief Education Officer Rajouri for not providing them salaries.
They alleged that due to non-payment of  the wages  of  ReT teachers of the area, they and their families are facing starvation. It is very hard for them to perform if they go unpaid for the months together. They warned to put locks on the schools and move to CEO office at Rajouri to launch indefinite dharna if their pending wages are   not released within four days. After holding protest for over two hours they dispersed.
