Jammu, July 15: The Headquarters Counter Insurg-ency Force (Uniform) celebrated its 11th Raising Day at Reasi, today.
On the solemn occasion, the General Officer Commanding, Counter Insurgency Force and Dr Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi paid homage to the martyrs by laying wreath at the wall of remembrance.
In his address the GOC complimented all ranks for their outstanding contribution towards combating terrorism with a people – friendly approach. He also commended all ranks of the Force for their sacrifices to achieve an environment conducive for peace, harmony, growth and development in the region. The General Officer Commanding was confident that in the future too, the Force would continue to scale greater heights of success.
The Force was raised on July 15, 2002 to combat terrorism and in the last decade, it has played a pivotal role in bringing normalcy in Reasi district and adjoining areas.
