JAMMU, Feb 12: An unidentified male body was recovered from the bank of Tawi River here.
On February 8, an unidentified body of a male aged between 25 and 40 years was found at around 5 PM on the right bank of River Tawi, opposite Harki Paudi, a police official said.
He said the body was notified under suspicious circumstances and as such, legal proceedings have been initiated.
The police official described the deceased as a male of thin build, wheatish complexion, and approximately 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches in height. He had black hair and a short trimmed beard and moustache.
The body was discovered naked and no footwear was recovered from the spot, he said, adding that a cloth amulet (tabeez) was found tied around his neck.
Police have shifted the body for medico-legal formalities and are working to ascertain the identity of the deceased.

Police have sought cooperation from the general public in identifying the deceased.
