Unauthorized medical shops: SVC directs Drug Controller to submit ATR by Feb 6

JAMMU, Dec 31: While proceeding on a complaint filed by general secretary Chemist Association, Sub Division Marwah, district Kishtwar, the State Vigilance Commission (SVC) has directed Controller, Drug and Food Control Organization to submit action taken report on next date of hearing.
Earlier taking cognizance of the complaint, the Commission had directed the Drug Controller to carry out surprise check of the shops and submit  factual position of the matter along with action taken report to the Commission.
The complainant has alleged that one Jaffar Hussain is running a medical shop at village Suid Dachhan unauthorizedly without obtaining permission from the competent authority. He has further alleged that the Jaffer Hussain does not have the qualification required for running this profession and is totally inexperienced in this field. He has also cited few other cases of similar nature wherein shops are run by persons other than license holders.
The Controller, who was present on the bar, informed the Commission that show cause notices have been issued to the erring shopkeepers and action will be taken at the earliest.
Granting more time, the Commission directed the Controller to submit action taken report by or before February 6, 2016.
