UK asks Pakistan to bring perpetrators of 26/11 to justice

LONDON: In what could be seen a major diplomatic success for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ongoing visit, the United Kingdom today Pakistan to bring the perpetrators of the November 2008 terrorist attack in Mumbai to justice.

“India and the UK stand united against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and support the early finalisation of a Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism,” said a joint statement on international security partnership, which was issued after the Prime Ministerial-level talks here.     Both the countries resolved to work together to disrupt all financial and tactical support for terrorist networks including Islamic State, Al-Qaeda, Lashkar-e-Toiba, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, the Haqqanis and their associated groups.

“The two nations reiterate their call for Pakistan to bring the perpetrators of the November 2008 terrorist attack in Mumbai to justice,” the statement said. The UK and India will continue to work together to prevent terrorist attacks and counter violent extremism, including through the exchange of best practices and technologies, it said. (AGENCIES)
