JAMMU, Sept 23: Maintaining that the Union Government led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is totally committed to welfare of women in the country, Sanjita Dogra, general secretary and Headquarters in-charge of the Jammu & Kashmir unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), today said that PM’s recent decision of issuing 25 lakh free connections under Pradan Mantri Ujwala Yojna is a step in that direction.
Addressing a meeting of party’s women activists at BJP Headquarters, here, today she termed it a major and commendable decision of the Modi Government for the welfare of poor women in the country.
Sanjita Dogra stated that this decision will be implemented in the current financial year, enabling access to clean fuel for poor and needy women across the country. She emphasized that this step is not merely a social welfare scheme, but also an initiative aimed at promoting better health, self-respect, and self-reliance among women.
She added that the Ujjwala Yojana has freed crores of women from the use of traditional stoves, helping them avoid smoke-related diseases. Moreover, it also contributes to environmental protection. The scheme plays a crucial role in raising the standard of living for women, especially in rural areas.
Dogra further stated that with this new approval, the total number of beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana will now rise to 10.58 crore, which is an extraordinary achievement and a testament to the Government’s continued commitment to the welfare of the poor.
Expressing her gratitude to the Central Government and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Sanjita Dogra said that the BJP Government is committed to empowering the weakest sections of society, following the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.
She said that the initiative is not just a major step toward women’s empowerment, but also lays the foundation for a clean and safe life for future generations.
