Udhampur Police interacts with prominent women

UDHAMPUR, Apr 18: District Police today organised a public meeting with prominent women at Anti-Human Trafficking Police Station (Women Cell) Udhampur.
A number of prominent women, including women social activists, women Sarpanchs, Panchs, women Ex Councilors and intellectuals participated in the meet and expressed their views.
Neelam Devi, Vijay Lakshmi, Nisha Mahajan and others, who spoke on the occasion, laid stress on the safety and security of the women. They also stressed on the initiation of strict action under law against the offenders involved in crime against women/human trafficking etc.
Benam Tosh, Incharge SSP Udhampur who presided over the meeting, welcomed the prominent women on behalf of Police and requested them to come forward with their valuable suggestions for the improvement of the functioning of Anti-Human Trafficking Police Station (Women Cell) Udhampur. He further explained them the necessary reforms brought about in the functioning of women cell so that complaints of women are addressed up to their expectations. He assured them that stern and prompt action would be initiated against the criminals involved in crime against the women so as to eradicate various social evils like dowry deaths, human trafficking, bonded women/child labour etc from the entire district.
Others present on the occasion included women social workers namely Manju Gupta, Asha Devi, Shamim Akhter, Shalu Khajuria, Anju, Jyoti Gupta, Kamla Devi, Neelam Yogi, Dy SP Hqrs, Udhampur Sukhdev Bhasin, Suram Singh, Dy SP DAR Udhampur, Dy SP Prob Amara Nasim and SHO Udhampur Deepak Jasrotia.
