UCC defeats TCC in inaugural tie of Akhnoor Summer Cup

JAMMU, July 11: Unity Cricket Club (UCC) Akhnoor defeated Tacharwan Cricket Club (TCC) in the inaugural tie by 22 runs and sailed into the next stage of the Akhnoor Summer Cup 2020, which commenced today at Government Higher Secondary School Akhnoor.
The tournament was inaugurated by Rakesh Malhotra Councillor Ward Number 6 Akhnoor.
The tournament is being organized by Sonu Malhotra, Rajinder Sharma and Chandan Sharma under the supervision of Sham Singh Langeh Chairman Akhnoor Tehsil Cricket Committee.
Among others present were DN Abrol Ex-Chairman MC Akhnoor, Anil Sharma Social Activist and Jimmy Manni UT Spokesperson BJP.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, UCC scored 111 runs in 19.4 overs. Akshay was the top scorer with 28 runs while Pankaj Sharma made 20 runs.
From TCC, Jivan scalped 3 wickets while Sandy and MP shared 2 wickets each.
In reply, TCC failed to chase the target and bundled out at 90 runs by losing 9 wickets in stipulated overs. Rohit made 24 runs while Ritick scored 14 runs and Herry chipped in 13 runs.
From UCC, Pankaj, Sanjay, Abhi and Rakesh shared 2 wickets each.
Pankaj Sharma was declared as Man of the Match for his all round performance.
The match was officiated by Chander Kiran and Atul Sharma as umpires, while Sunil Govil acted as scorer.
