JAMMU, Jan 15: D-Drama Theater Company presented a play titled ‘U-Turn’ under the direction of Delight William Kler at Scottish Hall in Alexander Memorial School, here today.
‘U-Turn” is a compelling and thought-provoking play written and devised by the students of age group 10 to 14 years that promises to captivate audiences of all ages. Set against the backdrop of Kerala in the contemporary times, the play delves into the intricacies of relationships of a family with the neglect of the senior citizens at home.
The audience is transported through an emotional rollercoaster ride as they follow the journey of ‘Amma’ and her relationships with her children in a house where she takes a bold step to follow her passion in her old age. The play devised by children has skill-fully crafted a narrative that weaves together elements of senior care, love, patriarchy and empowerment in the contemporary times where age is no bar.
The production features an incredibly talented cast, led by Amaira Gupta, Medhansh Sharma, Shanaya Kaur Wazir, Pratham Vipul Gulati, Aadya Mahajan, Sehrish Singh, Soham Chouhan, Jiniya Gupta, Daayvik Gupta, Amyra Mahajan, Vedant Jain, Yahvi Gupta and Anikait Bansal.
Mentored and directed by Delight William Kler, the play promises to be an immersive experience, drawing the audience into a world filled with emotions and sensitivity towards our senior citizens.
There were three shows organized for which Dr Ritu Singh, Manu Bhatnagar and DIG Sarah Rizvi (IPS) were the chief guests separately for each show.
