Two-week Short Term Training Course on Bioprocess Engineering begins at JU

JAMMU, Dec 11:  A two-week Short Term Training Course (DBT-STTC) on Bioprocess Engineering is being held at Jammu University from yesterday.
The School of Biotechnology, JU, is organizing this training course, which has been sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. The aim of the training course is up-gradation of skills of College/University teachers and midcareer scientists in the area of Bioprocess Engineering, an important sub-discipline of Biotechnology.
The training program was inaugurated by JU Vice-Chancellor Prof R D Sharma, who deliberated on importance of such activities for enhancing the skills of young teachers and researchers.
Prof Manoj Dhar, Registrar JU and Director School of Biotechnology, enlightened the audience about the achievements of the school in various areas of Biotechnology.
Dr B K Bajaj, the Course-Directors-DBT-STTC introduced about the contents, and highlights of this course. He emphasized upon the importance of this course for the college and University teachers.
Dr Bajaj said that the course included invited talks by eminent Scientists from various Universities and research organizations of the country. He further informed that more than 25 participants have registered for the course.
Prof Rajni Dhingra, Dean Faculty of Sciences, while speaking on the occasion, stressed on collaborative scientific work and linkages among the Universities, affiliated colleges and schools of J&K State. She said that the sharing of scientific knowledge should pass on generation to generation.
