DODA, Aug 2: Police here today cracked a theft case within 24 hours after it was reported and arrested two thieves.
Yesterday, one Farooq Ahmed Naik, son of Javed Iqbal, resident of Parmaz Road, Doda, reported that someone broke into his rental home by damaging window panes and committed theft.
Acting on the complaint, Police Station Doda registered a case in FIR No. 182/2025, U/S 331(4), 305 BNS.
Under the directions of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, a team of cops was formed to crack the case.
The team was led by Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday, SHO Police Station Doda and PSI Meenaksh.
Using CCTV footage and technical surveillance, Police identified and arrested two accused.
They were identified as Najeeb Iqbal, son of Mohd Iqbal, resident of Pull Doda and Anant Raj, son of Girdhari Lal, resident of Bhatta Parryote Doda.
Following their interrogation, cops recovered three Indane gas cylinders and a formal recovery-cum-seizure was carried out in connection with the case. The investigation was underway and further developments were anticipated.
