Two thieves arrested with stolen truck, tanker

JAMMU, Mar 20: Bahu Fort and Narwal Police arrested two thieves and recovered stolen vehicles from their possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged on March 7 this year by a person namely Dhiraj Jamwal, son of Rashpal Singh Jamwal of Sadyal Kharamadhana District Samba with Police Post Narwal stating that his truck bearing registration number JK02BG-5942 worth Rs 20 lakh was stolen from Transport Nagar Narwal, District Jammu.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 73/2022 under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
To work out the case, a team led by SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Nayat Ali and assisted by Incharge Police Post Narwal SI Achal Rana was constituted under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari and SP South Mamta Sharma.
The team put in strenuous efforts and finally nabbed two thieves, who were identified as Karun Verma, son of Hukum Chand of Tikri District Udhampur and Kamal Kishore, son of Chuni Lal of Majalta District Jammu. On their disclosure, the stolen truck was recovered.
During further questioning, the arrested thieves also confessed about their involvement in another theft of a tanker bearing registration number JK02AG-3754. The stolen tanker was also recovered on their disclosure. A case of tanker theft stands registered under FIR Number 116/2021 under Section 379 IPC with Police Station Bahu Fort.
Further questioning of the arrested thieves is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
