Two theft cases worked out, accused arrested

UDHAMPUR, Sept 14: Police worked out two theft cases registered at Police Station Udhampur by arresting two thieves besides recovering the stolen property.
Ne theft was reported on September 11, 2025 when Police Station Udhampur received a complaint from Alok Raj son of Charan Das of Moud Udhampur stating that his motorcycle bearing registration number JK14J-5199, which was parked at Jakheni Chowk on September 4, had been stolen. In this regard, case FIR No. 326/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS was registered.
On the same day, another complaint was received from Mima Begum wife of Tariq Hussain, resident of Ward number 5, Bharat Nagar Udhampur, stating that on September 1, 2025, she had locked her house and gone to her relatives’ place. On returning the next day, she found the locks broken and mobile phones along with Rs 20,000 stolen. Accordingly, case FIR No. 327/2025 U/S 331(4) 305 BNS was registered.
During the course of investigation, Police team, led by SHO, Purab Singh, apprehended two accused persons Badal Kumar son of Dilip Kumar of Panjar Panchari Udhampur and Kuldeep Chand alias Mera, son of Sindoor Chand of Gandala Udhampur.
From their possession, the stolen motorcycle (JK14J-5199) was recovered from Gandala. Further investigation also led to the recovery of four stolen mobile phones and Rs 11,500 cash.
With the arrest of the accused, Udhampur Police successfully solved both the theft cases and recovered stolen property. Further investigation into involvement of the accused in other thefts is going on.
