Two smugglers held, 20 bovines rescued

DODA, July 6: Police here today foiled a bovine smuggling bid and arrested two smugglers involved in the crime and rescued 20 bovines besides seizing the vehicle involved in smuggling.
During a Naka at Thanalla, cops from Police Post Thanalla, falling under the jurisdictions of Police Station Bhaderwah, stopped a vehicle bearing registration number JK19-4106, coming from Thanalla, for checking and found 20 bovines loaded in it mercilessly and without any arrangement of food and water.
Driver of the vehicle Mohd Sahil, son of Irshad Ahmed Wani, resident of Seeri, Ramban and a co-passenger Naseer Ahmed, son of Hakim Din, resident of Kunfar Chaderkot, Ramban were arrested.
These bovines were being transported without any permission from the competent authority.
An FIR with number 93/2025 U/S 223 BNS 11 PC Act, was registered at Police Station Bhaderwah in this regard and the vehicle was seized. Investigation of case was going on.
