KISHTWAR, May 18: Police here today rescued 14 bovine animals and arrested two persons in this regard.
As per Police, cops from Police Station Chatroo led by the SHO rescued 14 bovine animals at Dandnak, bordering District Anantnag.
The cops spotted two persons who were illegally transporting 14 cattle and on seeing cops they tried to escape but the cops stopped them.
On questioning the accused revealed their names as Zakir Hussain, son of Mohd Hussain and Muneer Ahmed, son of Jamal Din, both residents of Gujrari, Tehsil Chatroo.
On verification they failed to produce any valid DM permission for transporting the bovine animals.
In this regard a case in FIR no. 23/2025 U/S 223 BNS 11 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Chatoo and investigation started.
The whole operation was held under the supervision of Dy.SP Sumit Bhagat and under the command and directions of SSP Kishtwar, Naresh Singh.
