Two Punjab women arrested with 14 Kg poppy straw in RS Pura

JAMMU, Nov 5: Jammu and Kashmir Police in RS Pura area have arrested two women from Punjab and recovered around 14 kilograms of poppy straw (Bhukki) from their possession.
During routine checking at Kotli Shah Doula near Shiv Mandir, Simranpreet Kour and Jasmine Kour, both residents of Beas, Amritsar, were apprehended with the consignment concealed in their pithu bags, a police official said.
According to him, the accused were accordingly booked in case FIR number 216/2025 under sections 8/15/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation taken up, he said.
Pertinently, the arrests were made by a team of Police Station RS Pura led by PSI Majid Shafi, incharge BPP Chakrohi, under the supervision of SHO RS Pura, Inspector RS Parihar.
