Two porters hurt in Pak firing

JAMMU, Sept 7: Two porters were injured when Pakistan army violated ceasefire and resorted to unprovoked firing on the Line of Control (LoC) in Shahpur sector of Poonch district this afternoon.
Reports said the two porters, who were working in the forward areas, were hit by bullets fired by Pakistan army with small weapons at 12.30 pm in Shahpur today.

Indian side retaliated the firing and exchanges continued till1.40 pm.
Troops evacuated the injured from the site of firing and admitted them to the hospital, where their condition was stated to be stable.
The injured porters have been identified as Farooq Ahmad, 21, son of Ghulam Qadar Tantray, a resident of Bedar Mandi and Mushtaq Ahmad, 24, son of Ghulam Nabi Peer R/o Gantar, Sabjian.
The ceasfire violations by Pakistan army on the Line of Control in twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri have become a regular feature for the last few months. Indian Army has been giving befitting response to mortar shelling and firing by the Pakistani troops.
